Kathleen and I have been members of St Theresa Parish since 2000. Our oldest daughter has been attending St Theresa School since 2004 as a Pre-K4 student. Our three daughters, Emma, Julia, and Fiona, are in 8th, 7th, and 5th grade.I am currently the class parent for the 5th grade, an assistant softball coach, and one of the JV volleyball coaches. What I hope to bring to St Theresa School as HSA President is a sense of community, expansion of volunteerism, and increase in partnership among the parents of all grades.Thank you for your consideration.
Most of you probably know me from drop off and as a class mom. Now I’d like to also serve, and represent you more, as an HSA officer. Here are some of my intentions: 1. I want to be a strong bridge between the parents and faculty of our school. Everything starts with communication. 2. One of my goals is to strengthen the volunteer programs by making it easier, and the process more clear, for parents who want to be involved but may not know how to jump in. 3. I’d also like to let parents be more involved with the fundraising ideas. I believe we can accomplish our school’s fundraising goals and have fun as a family while doing so.
The Streko Clan have been members of St. Theresa’s Parish for over 55 years. My husband, David and I continued the tradition and joined the Parish when we moved into Kenilworth about 13 years ago. Our son Reagan has been attending St. Theresa since Pre-K4. He’s now a second grader. What we love about the St. Theresa is the sense of Family and Community.Professionally, I have over 16 years of experience as a School Social Worker and Parent Advocate for Children with Special Needs. My skills as a liaison between Parents and Educators will serve as an asset. If elected as n HSA Officer, I would like to increase opportunities for involvement for Parents who work during the day, spur cooperation across grade levels as well as maintaining the amazing volunteerism of the Home School Community.Thank you for your consideration.
I have been part of the St. Theresa family since my husband and I enrolled our oldest daughter in Pre-K, 9 years ago. You most likely know me as Mom to Hannah (7th Grade) and Shawna (5th Grade) or from my television appearance on ABC’s The Chew! When I am not taking care of my family or showcasing my culinary talents, I work at Merck & Co., Inc. I have worked at Merck for the past 15 years and have held several positions with increased responsibility over the years. Currently, I am an Associate Director leading a team responsible for Clinical Trial Operations, specializing in Oncology, Women’s Health, Allergy, Cardiovascular and Diabetes therapies. I began my career as a litigation paralegal, with concentrations in Medical Malpractice defense and Real Estate disputes. I recently completed my Master’s in Business Administration, have a B.A. degree in Communications and hold certifications in both Leadership and Paralegal studies. I am always looking for athletic challenges and recently achieved my Gold Belt in kickboxing. As the spring weather breaks, you will find me competing in 5K runs both in New Jersey and at our lake house in Pennsylvania. I absolutely love Football and Baseball, and have successfully turned my children into Yankee fans, though I have not been as successful in making them Cowboys fans! I look forward to the challenge of being part of the HSA and will work very hard keeping the best interests of our children and school in mind!
This is my 5th year at STS! My husband Rob and I have two children: a daughter in 1st grade (Nilsa) and a son in 2nd grade (Ari.) I have volunteered at STS as class parent and along with Rob at the annual Trunk or Treat event provided DJ and entertainment services. Professionally, I’ve spent the majority of my career coordinating special events and weddings and managing the marketing for my husband’s entertainment business. I work as a full time office manager & executive assistance to the CEO for a financial firm, moderate my Township’s Community Forum on Facebook and am a writer for JerseyFamilyFun.com. STS has given my children a wonderful education and has provided me with a community that feels like family. I believe I can say with confidence that our school is truly a unique place. I especially appreciate the diversity, teachers, and staff. I hope to give back to the school that has given my children so much and assist in accelerating its achievements.
My name is Joanne Burke and I am the proud mother of Molly Burke a current 7th grader at St. Theresa’s School and I have been nominated for the position of Home School Association Treasurer.I have been married to My Husband John for almost 25 years (officially May 20th) and we live in Elizabeth with our four beautiful children. Owen is a freshman at Steven’s Institute of Technology, Liam a senior at Oratory Prep, Molly 7th grader at STS and Casey who is a 4th grader at ECLC in Chatham. My personal experience with handling money has to do with spending it. However, don’t be alarmed. I have currently been counting the 7th grade pretzel money these past two months without any mistakes. So, I will do my utmost to count and protect the HSA funds and I hope you will give me your vote. Thank You!
