Hi everyone,
As the CYO Basketball season is coming to and end and the playoffs begin this Friday, March 1, I'd like to congratulate all the boys and girls on the basketball teams for a fantastic season! Win or lose, they played hard, worked together as a team, and represented STS superbly in sportsmanship, teamwork, and respect. The entire STS community, including your coaches, their teachers, Sr. Marisa, and myself are very proud of each and every one of them! Good luck to all the teams during the playoffs. No matter what happen in the playoffs, they are winners in our eyes! A special shoutout to the 7th & 8th grade varsity boys team and the 5th & 6th grade JV girls team for being ranked 2nd in their respective divisions going into the playoffs. Let's go Stallions!!!
A basketball program cannot exist without coaches. I'd like to recognize the following coaches:
- Coach Eddie Aguilar
- Coach John Bawden
- Coach Bill Bejarano
- Coach Michael Hanley
- Coach Peter Huzovic
- Coach Kevin Julien
- Coach Joanne Julien
- Coach Ralph Pombo
- Coach Phil Salvatore
On behalf of Sr. Marisa, the parents, the players, and the entire community, I'd like to thank them for volunteering their time, putting in many hours teaching our players not just the game of basketball, but also sportsmanship, teamwork, and respect. These coaches are helping create not just good athletes, but also fine, young men and women with the right attitudes in life. STS is very lucky to have coaches like you!
As these coaches and young athletes head into the playoffs, let's come out to support them every steps of the way. Attached is the complete playoffs schedule, with all the games from this Friday, March 1 till the championship games on Sunday, March 9. For your convenience, here are the first games for each of our teams. If they win, they move on to the next round, which is listed in the attached schedule:
